May 12-13, 2011
Charleston, SC, USA
Six of DFI’s technical committees have joined forces to organize this year’s Super Pile Conference. The two-days will consist of sessions on the subjects of Driven Piles, Augercast Piles, Drilled Shafts, Micropiles, deep foundation applications in the marine environment, testing and evaluation of foundation systems as well as design for seismic considerations. The second day will give attendees the option to choose which presentations are of interest to them.
Presentations will focus on concept/method, historical development, theory and design, system specifications, system attributes and ideas for future development. Given that 2011 is the 25th Anniversary of the 1886 Charleston Earthquake, special consideration will be given to presentations that focus on seismic issues. Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers and vendors will be presenting their services as well in the exhibit hall. Complete details of the event as plan progress can be found at www.dfi.org.
Presentation proposals are solicited on the following topics relating to Driven Piles, Augercast Piles, Drilled Shafts, Micropiles, Testing and Evaluation, and Marine Foundations:
- Seismic Considerations
- Case Studies
- History / Theoretical Background
- Quality Control and Inspection
- Field Production
- Pile Systems
- Marine Applications
- Practice-Oriented Research
- Relationship between Design, Construction and Equipment used in a project.
Parties interested in being included in the Super Pile 2011 presentation program should submit a brief abstract (no more than 300 words) describing the subject matter of their proposed presentation. We request that you include the presentation title and presenter name in the abstract document. The due date for abstract submissions is Friday, December 31, 2010. Please send proposals to DFI Headquarters via email to Katie Criqui (email@example.com).
Notification of acceptance and guidelines for presentation development will be returned to all submitters no later than Friday, January 22, 2011.
All authors of accepted proposals will be required to commit to presenting their topic on May 12th or 13th and will be required to submit a paper or PowerPoint presentation handout to be included in the seminar publication by Monday, April 11, 2011.
